Then read Christ & Diwan’s (2008) article Chronic Illness and Aging: The Role of Social Work in Managing Chronic Illness Care, which lists seven domains that social workers should consider to thoroughly assess an older client’s needs. Finally, include a one-page summary of your assessment of Magda’s circumstance that covers all seven domains. Fill in the gaps in content as necessary. Explain how you would have incorporated Magda into the initial assessment and treatment plan. Include any additional questions you would have asked Magda and her professional support system (doctors, nurses, etc.) in order to acquire a better understanding of the situation.
